On Cloud Nine at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong
The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong is a sophisticated and luxurious hotel that has earned a Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Rating for its “flawless service and the finest of amenities.” Led by the hotel’s manager, Matthias Terretaz, this property is a fine example of high-end hospitality that all hotels should strive to emulate. That’s why we jumped at the opportunity to experience the spectacular Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, found atop the tallest skyscraper of Hong Kong’s skyline, when our friends at Forbes passed along the recommendation.
Upon arrival, the elevator doors open to the 103rd floor. Guests are met with an opulent interior and professional greetings from the reception team. After checking in, we were whisked to our room and kindly told by the lovely Franziska Ludwig, Guest Relations Manager, “Welcome home.” As we entered the room, we were blown away by the breathtaking views of the city. Within the rooms, every need and want has been anticipated by Ritz-Carlton. Any additional needs are happily accommodated by the friendly and professional staff.
The wow factor only begins at the room, however. The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong boasts world records that have yet to be trumped. For example, guests have access to the highest pool in the world. At 490 meters (1,600 feet) above sea level you can float in a beautiful pool with clouds floating above on digital screens and the skyline views from outside the windows. You can alternate between hot and chilled water next to the pool, or simply relax in the outdoor jacuzzi. (Click here to see a video of the pool area.)
Seeking some excitement? The Ritz-Carlton also has the highest bar in the world, called Ozone. With a distinct menu of cocktails and light food, guests can enjoy a hip vibe until the late hours of the evening when the club really picks up. At around 11:00 PM, Ozone packs in the high-end crowds with a taste for great music and epic views.
All of this activity will work up one’s appetite. The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong has you covered with two Michelin star rated restaurants. Tin Lung Heen offers a distinctive Chinese menu. In contrast, Tosca is where guests can enjoy incredible Italian cuisine. While there are restaurants higher in the sky, we dare say that these are the highest Michelin rated restaurants. There is no better way to enjoy dining in the sky.
You will be challenged to find a better hotel with the views, vibe, and service than the Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong. In fact, you’ll find it difficult to leave the luxury of this hotel to enjoy one of the most impressive cities of the world.
